Risk Management Engineer

As a Risk Management Engineer with the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA), you will play a vital role in ensuring public safety in Ontario's fuel industry.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing technical drawings and calculations from submissions or site inspections, identifying and communicating risk to manufacturers, and participating in promoting public safety through membership on technical standard committees and presentations at industry association meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze system or device technical drawings and calculations from submission or site inspection
- Follow up with clients to address outstanding information requirements or technical issues
- Collaborate with TSSA Inspectors and/or Investigators in safety incident investigations to determine compliance levels and conduct root cause analysis
- Identify and ensure compliance on fuel appliance recalls
- Actively participate in promoting public safety as a member of technical standard committees and through participation and presentations at industry association meetings
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science or its equivalent as defined by Prof. Eng. license, and approximately 3-5 years of engineering experience with a regulator or in the fuels industry. Propane experience, specifically with Mobile Food Trucks and Carts, is an asset. Additionally, you should have skills in analyzing structural, mechanical, and electric drawings, manuals, PLC programming languages and logic diagrams, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
What We OfferTSSA offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
