About Meridian OneCap

**About this role**:
The Vice President is responsible for leading and contributing to the profitable growth and quality of Meridian OneCap’s (MOC) portfolio.

The VP Credit & Risk Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of credit management, risk management and compliance functions for MOC including the functional leadership of credit risk managers, collections, asset management and floorplan of which encompasses oversight of loan/lease approvals, structuring guidance, underwriting, floorplan operations, Meridian and leasing loan policy implementation and review, loan review and regulatory interface as well as frequent special projects.

As part of the Meridian Risk Management leadership team, the VP, Credit & Risk Management is accountable for the development of portfolio management strategies consistent with the Enterprise Risk Management framework that will meet the credit needs of Meridian Credit Union, and support sustainable business growth while anticipating and mitigating risk to the organization. Ensuring credit portfolio quality and compliance within Meridian’s approved credit management policies and risk appetite at all times the VP Credit & Risk Management provides a continuous improvement approach in the credit management function, ensuring the infrastructure, processes, and risk management techniques reflect a best practice environment.

As part of the Meridian OneCap leadership team, the Vice President, Credit & Risk Management ensures solid Risk Management policies and practices are in place and are effectively followed throughout the organization. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the delivery of profitable financial solutions to MOC’s sales teams and clientele is of a caliber consistent with service standards and procedures in support of the MOC’s sales model. The incumbent has overall responsibility for ensuring national sales and business development and national accounts business plans represent and support the company goals for credit risk, with primary focus on small, mid ($250M-$1MM) and large (>$1MM). The incumbent will also work in partnership with the sales and business development and major account teams to proactively package and negotiate more complex credit-related deals.

**What you’ll do**:
**Improve corporate profitability while maintaining sound credit/investment practices and the overall quality of the MOC portfolio and client base by**:

- Ensuring loan and/or investment losses and portfolio profile are managed within established targets
- Provide oversight to all transaction documentation making sure it is reviewed and amended on a consistent basis.
- Managing and developing credit scoring parameters
- Maintaining a current and thorough knowledge of MOC’s products, to effectively and fairly adjudicate on deals
- Leveraging and managing customer profitability through effective financial solutions proposals, which may involve approving or recommending alternative terms and conditions to provide a viable proposal to the customer within credit granting or investment practices
- Participating as required in the mediation of credit or investment appeals and/or complex lending situations to ensure all potential alternatives are exhausted and credit or investmen
