Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and making repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of heavy-duty equipment to identify potential issues
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements
  • Making repairs to equipment using welding techniques
  • Investigate equipment problems and implement corrective action to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with other team members to plan and execute work
  • Prepare and submit accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair
  • Certify in CP's safety rules and procedures
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
  • Occasional overnight stays at remote locations with meal allowances provided
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Journeyman's certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Technician or Automotive Mechanic/Technician
  • Ability to monitor gauges, instruments, and processes with precision
  • Actionable problem-solving skills, with a focus on judgment and decision-making
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced setting
  • An emphasis on safety, with a willingness to work in a high-risk environment
