Senior Systems Administrator Job Description

Farm Mutual Re is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT department in Cambridge, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our IT infrastructure to ensure optimal availability, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage enterprise-level firewall, IPS, IDS, and appliances in a clustered environment.
  • Manage enterprise networking using L2 and L3 switch stacks, cascaded switching, and modular switching.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, promoting awareness and proactive measures to protect against emerging threats.
  • Architect and support Windows Active Directory 2022/2019, Azure AD in a hybrid environment.
  • Manage and optimize VMware virtualization platforms, ensuring efficient operation of virtual servers and desktops.
  • Utilize Qualys tools for vulnerability scanning and security compliance, implementing remediation strategies to enhance system security.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services and Azure cloud deployments, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with managing Cisco networking hardware and software and VMware virtualization technologies.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator with a strong background in platforms, virtualization, networking, and tiered security model.
  • Experience with Qualys or similar security tools for vulnerability management, remediation, and compliance.
  • Proficient in administering Microsoft 365 and managing Azure cloud services.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cybersecurity, with skills in promoting awareness and proactive measures.
