Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing
    • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our staff and customers.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Food Preparation and Handling
    • Assist in the preparation and handling of food, including washing and peeling fruits and vegetables.
    • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Kitchen Maintenance
    • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
    • Recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster.
    • Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition and offer mentorship programs that pair them with experienced employees.
  • Support for Youths and Indigenous People
    • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth and Indigenous workers.
  • Work Environment
    • Work as part of a team to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
    • Work 35 hours per week in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Will train on the job.

English is the primary language of communication in this role.
