Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Emergency department at Chetwynd General Hospital.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN), Rural General practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
  • Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of client–centered care
  • Developing the specialized skills, knowledge, attitudes, and judgement required to provide safe, competent, and individualized care to the emergency patient
Education and Experience

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

Chetwynd General Hospital has 7 Long-term beds and 5 Acute Care beds. Services include emergency, medical inpatient, palliative care, and respiratory therapy.

Chetwynd lies in the foothills of the Eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains and is the natural transportation hub of the Peace River Country. The area is rich in oil, gas and timber and the local resources and manufacturing industries reflect these assets.
