Construction and Energy Risk Manager

Job Description:We're seeking an experienced Construction and Energy Risk Manager to tailor effective solutions for our current and prospective clients. This role requires significant interaction with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders, utilizing your solid background of technical underwriting expertise in Construction and Energy risks underwriting.
You will work closely with dedicated industry experts who have robust construction industry risk management experience, as well as highly qualified and experienced risk engineers to stay abreast of the latest developments and actuaries to help you quantify and price risks.
This exciting opportunity combines technical knowledge with adaptive underwriting while delivering profit. Key responsibilities include developing and structuring tailor-made solutions by considering the underwriting guidelines and underwriting policy to win new business and retain existing customers.
Responsibilities also include reviewing submissions, terms and conditions, statement of values, loss history, and catastrophic modeling, and conducting appropriate research to determine the degree of risk for each account based upon company guidelines and underwriting authority granted.
You will also coordinate with various business divisions, including actuarial, claims, reinsurance, accounting, marketing, risk engineering, regulatory, and others internally that support our businesses.
In this role, you will determine quote or declination of risk, and calculate rates and premium charges using approved rating models. Additionally, you will develop and modify policy wording in accordance with delegated underwriting authority when the standard forms are not appropriate.
You will be responsible for supporting service standards in the delivery of Construction and Energy products and services, and will market to producers to secure new and renewal business and initiate opportunities for cross-selling within your unit and across all lines of business in Canada.
You will also participate in special projects as assigned by management. In this role, you will report to the Head of Construction and Energy at AXA XL, Toronto, Canada.
Requirements:- Extensive Construction Property (Builders Risk) and Operational Energy (Renewables, Power etc.) experience
- Excellent comprehension and work experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (English/French) skills are an asset
- Bachelor's Degree required with advanced education and/or professional designations including but not limited to FCIP, CRIS preferred but not required
Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
