About the Role

TC Energy is seeking a skilled Project Manager, Power Operations Engineering to lead the management of Operations & General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects for our Canadian Power and Gas Storage Assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, organize, and execute GPMC projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and compliance with TC Energy's Project Delivery Standards.
  2. Lead project definition, scope development, detailed engineering, and construction activities, including cost and schedule estimates, and execution plans for all project phases.
  3. Develop project execution plans, encompassing schedules, budgets, resource requirements, permits, and regulatory compliance.
  4. Work with Supply Chain to support engineering and construction contract formation, contractor selection, and project work recommendations, including quotation reviews, technical specifications, and project walk-downs.
  5. Manage design deliverables from engineering consultants and vendors, ensuring design reviews, and engaging operations and maintenance teams during the design phase.
  6. Ensure quality management plan compliance, develop quality practices, and procedures as required.
  7. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning activities.
  8. Identify, analyze, and manage project risks.
  9. Manage projects to stay within budget and on schedule, including project cost and financial requirements.
  10. Ensure proper commissioning and turnover to operations, completion of pre-start safety reviews, QA/QC documentation, drawing modifications, and training.
  11. Develop and implement project management tools and processes, influencing continuous improvement.
  12. Make informed decisions, communicate recommendations, and foster consensus among stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering.
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA in good standing.
  • Six years of progressive experience in energy processing facilities, including project management and leadership roles.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical discipline drawings, including P&IDs, piping isometrics, general arrangements, and mechanical system drawings.
  • Proven experience working independently to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, with daily field support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, as well as SAP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience in power generation and/or gas storage facilities, including installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated field project experience, including facility construction and operations.
  • Understanding of operations safety practices, including LOTO, Permit to Work, JSA/FLHA, and risk assessment.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, ABSA, AER, CSA, AESO, and regulatory codes related to power and gas storage facilities.
  • Valid driver's license and driver's abstract for review.
  • Ability to travel internationally, including Canada, the US, and Mexico.
