Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at School District #39 (Vancouver). As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students with developmental disabilities and/or autism, providing individualized education plans and implementing positive behavior support plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in inclusive classroom settings and smaller self-contained classrooms
  • Liaise with parents, school staff, and district staff to ensure student success
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to provide comprehensive support to students

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Education
  • Completion of a Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • 1 year of full-time continuing contract experience as a Resource Teacher
  • Prior teaching experience is an asset
