Derivatives Reconciliation Specialist

About the Role
At Royal Bank of Canada, we're seeking a skilled Derivatives Reconciliation Analyst to join our Alternatives Investment team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day processing of derivatives transactions.
- Perform daily reconciliation of various derivatives products, including Forwards, Futures, Options, Swaps, and Structured Products.
- Evaluate and escalate breaks to the appropriate parties as per procedure.
- Assess Net Asset Value and Market Value calculations for derivatives products being reconciled.
- Monitor and maintain the group inbox for internal and external queries.
- Verify terms and details of derivatives products, including Forwards, Futures, Options, and Swaps.
- Generate derivative reports for the Fund Accounting and Custody Reporting groups.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of derivatives experience, including experience with year-end processes, audit, transitions, and mergers.
- Strong understanding of how to calculate MTM for all open positions for derivatives products.
- Ability to decompose portfolio performance and calculate P&L.
- Strong collaboration and team skills, with a focus on cross-group collaboration.
- Data-driven reporting.
- Knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices, and standards across the project lifecycle.
Nice-to-Haves
- Securities experience.
- Enrolment in CAIA/CGA/CMA/CFA or other recognized accredited program is desirable.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
