About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team at Bethany Care Society, responsible for providing high-quality care and support to residents, their families, and volunteers. This role requires a passion for delivering exceptional service, promoting resident independence, and maintaining dignity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resident-Centered Care: Conduct thorough nursing assessments, prioritize care, and collaborate with the Registered Nurse and other team members to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Documentation: Accurately document resident care assessments, interventions, and outcomes, adhering to Bethany policies and procedures.
  • Safety: Contribute to a safe environment by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices.
  • Pro-active Learner: Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings, care conferences, and education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Team Work: Foster constructive relationships with the Interdisciplinary Team, residents, families, and visitors.
  • Leadership: Provide direction and supervision to Health Care Aides and assume the 'In Charge' role when necessary.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Previous LPN experience is preferred
  • Active Registration and good standing with CLPNA
  • Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment
  • Excellent observation, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Current CPR certification
  • Dementia Care Certificate and experience preferred
  • Knowledge of RAI/MDS 2.0 tool and computer skills
