The successful candidate will provide patient and family-centered care to acute and chronic renal failure patient populations, working within the guidelines and philosophy of the AKC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide patient and family-centered care to acute and chronic renal failure patient populations
  • Work within the guidelines and philosophy of the AKC
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Physical Assessment, IV Therapy, and Medication Administration course
  • Ability to lift 40lbs (18kg)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of hemodialysis and renal failure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
