Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our multidisciplinary team in the Alberta Kidney Care – North program. As a key member of the team, the LPN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide patient and family-centered care to acute and chronic renal failure patient populations, working within the guidelines and philosophy of the AKC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Provide patient and family-centered care to acute and chronic renal failure patient populations
- Work within the guidelines and philosophy of the AKC
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Physical Assessment, IV Therapy, and Medication Administration course
- Ability to lift 40lbs (18kg)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of hemodialysis and renal failure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
