Mechanical Superintendent

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Superintendent to join our team at Kiewit. As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of our projects, overseeing the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance of our mechanical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure a smooth transition of knowledge and skills.
- Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Develop and implement a program to maintain positive client relationships, including regular meetings and site visits.
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Review, approve, and negotiate change orders to ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.
- Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover, ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of the project.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily diaries and performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- 6+ years of construction experience, with at least 1 year in a superintendent or leadership role.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes, including Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs.
- Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
