What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a talented and results-driven Senior Digital Product Designer to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Global Functions Technology (GFT) division, you will collaborate with partners across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions.

As a Senior Digital Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing high-performing applications that meet the needs of our clients and employees. You will work closely with product managers, UX researchers, and engineers to align designs with business goals and user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end solutions for web and mobile applications that are simple and intuitive.
  • Ideate on short to medium-term design and product strategies alongside the product team.
  • Present thoughtful design solutions to product teams, articulating your design rationale effectively.
  • Provide day-to-day mentorship to other designers, helping them navigate design challenges and grow in their roles.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to RBC's accessibility guidelines, creating inclusive experiences for all RBC employees.
  • Promote the use of a design system amongst designers, developers, and other participants.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX researchers, and engineers to align designs with business goals and user needs.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep knowledge in 2-3 key areas: building complex user flows, visual design, accessible and inclusive design, responsive design, design systems, strategic product thinking, information architecture, and/or growth design.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing interfaces across web and mobile apps.
  • A portfolio showcasing UI/UX design work and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools.
