Casual Education Assistant Position

We are seeking a Casual Education Assistant to join our team at the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board. As a Casual Education Assistant, you will provide support to designated students with activities of a special program, planning and preparing materials and activities, providing observation and assessment data, record keeping, care and assistance, medically necessary interventions, and other related duties as assigned by the Principal or classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist designated students with activities of a special program
  • Plan and prepare materials and activities
  • Provide observation and assessment data
  • Record keeping and care and assistance
  • Medically necessary interventions

Qualifications:

  • Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Diploma in Teacher Aide Program, Child Care Worker Program, Developmental Services Worker Program, Children's Services Program, or Early Childhood Education Program
  • Behaviour Management System (BMS) training would be considered an asset

What We Offer:

  • Casual Qualified Education Assistant: $28.14/hr
  • Casual Unqualified Education Assistant: $25.14/hr

About Us:

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala.
