Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Oversight Manager - Trade Supervision to join our team in Montreal, Quebec or New Brunswick. As a key member of our Business Governance & Controls team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Sun Life policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Tier 1 Supervision Activities: Perform daily and monthly trade reviews, close supervision, and new registrant supervision to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and Sun Life policies.
  • Manage Queries and Tasks: Effectively manage queries and tasks to support trade supervision within the broader team.
  • Escalate Issues: Escalate unresolved issues and areas of concern to the Manager, Trade Supervision Oversight.
  • Identify and Resolve Issues: Through daily trade review activities, identify and help resolve issues impacting risk, regulatory requirements, and Sun Life policies.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Team: Proactively collaborate with the Compliance Best Practices team to identify issues and provide training and coaching to field leaders and advisors to improve compliance outcomes.
  • Improve Processes: Proactively identify and share opportunities for improvement in policies, processes, tools, and reporting across the compliance ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Trade Supervision team members and with other BG&C colleagues to achieve BG&C objectives.
  • Stay Current with Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry and regulatory knowledge and expectations through continued education.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism: Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
  • Investment Dealer Branch Manager Proficiency: Investment Dealer Branch Manager Proficiency is an asset.
