Cultural Preservation Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cultural Preservation Coordinator to join our team at Anishinabek Employment & Training Services. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in preserving the cultural heritage and traditions of Indigenous children and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategies to promote cultural preservation and awareness among Indigenous children and families
* Collaborate with related service agencies and community organizations to provide support and resources to Indigenous families
* Ensure effective delivery and monitoring of practices guided by relevant strategies to safeguard the rights of Indigenous children
* Maintain a strong knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and related legislation
* Represent Shawanaga First Nation in court proceedings and ensure the heritage and cultural traditions of Indigenous children are protected
Requirements
* Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Social Science, or related field required
* Minimum three years' experience working in social services or related field in a First Nation
* Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities
* Knowledge and understanding of cultural sensitivity and traditional teachings
* Proven ability of accurate and comprehensive record keeping and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Native Child and Family Service Worker Diploma
* Knowledge of Case Management techniques and negotiation skills
* Ability to establish and develop active working relationships with all Child and Family Services
