We are seeking a skilled Executive Chef to join our team at The Gananoque Inn & Spa. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our kitchen, ensuring that every dish is prepared to perfection and exceeding our guests' expectations.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role and will be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for planning menus, estimating food requirements, and supervising kitchen staff and helpers. Additionally, they will be required to maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensure that the kitchen and work areas are clean and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for large groups and events
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that all dishes are prepared to perfection
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Clean and organize the kitchen and work areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment as needed
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar role
- A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods
We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
