Job Summary:
The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Criminology. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research and teaching mission, with a focus on critical surveillance and security studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and publish refereed articles in the field of critical surveillance and security studies
- Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in criminology, including methods and theory
- Supervise graduate students
- Participate in the educational and administrative activities of the department and the Faculty of Social Sciences
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- PhD in Criminology, Sociology, Political Science, Human Geography, Communications, or a related field with specialization in surveillance and security
- Demonstrate excellence or potential for excellence in teaching and research
- Ability to teach in French at the time of hiring
- Bilingualism is a requirement for this position
