The Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres is seeking a Policy and Research Analyst to support the needs of the Association and its member Friendship Centres in Manitoba.

The Policy and Research Analyst will provide support to the Executive Director in the oversight and management of research priorities, policy development, and working within the partnership with the University of Winnipeg's NEIHR program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the research and policy workplan, conducting research, surveys, and analyses, and compiling data. They will also provide technical support to MAFC Committees and ensure the implementation of MAFC program policies and practices.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of research and policy development, understanding of budgeting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, and proficiency in all office functions, including MS Office.

Applicants must have a post-secondary degree in political studies, political science, social sciences, or a related field, and experience in policy creation and amendment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the research and policy workplan as identified by the Board of Directors, the Policy and Constitution Committee, and the Executive Director.
  • Conduct research, surveys, analyses, and compile data.
  • Provide technical support to MAFC Committees.
  • Ensure the implementation of MAFC program policies and practices.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of research and policy development.
  • Understanding of budgeting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in all office functions, including MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in political studies, political science, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in policy creation and amendment.
