About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Energy Operations Director to lead our Power Plant team in Windsor, ON, Canada.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Power Plant Operations and Maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with division quality, safety, and continuous improvement objectives. They will also assist the Chief Operating Engineer in administering programs involving electrical, mechanical, general construction, and repair and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:
  • Implement a complete preventive management system to ensure effective cost management and budget development.
  • Assign and verify completion of routine maintenance/PM and operation of all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C systems and other related equipment.
  • Assist with the administration of inventory control programs and systems.
Quality & Safety:
  • Create, foster, and maintain a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Support OHAS 18001 Safety Management Programs and ensure compliance with overall plant safety goals.
  • Develop and implement site-wide equipment standards for optimal efficiency and compliance.
Team Management:
  • Coach employees by clarifying role requirements and discussing progress.
  • Manage department work schedules, payroll, job administration, time off requests, and employee time & attendance.
Project Management:
  • Deliver and manage budgets of CAPEX/OPEX projects.
  • Lead change initiatives to deliver business results.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • 1st class Power Engineer certificate from the TSSA (or 2nd class Power Engineer certificate with some 1st class examination completed).
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
