Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Strategist to join our team at Sanimax.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, strategic buying, or related emphasis.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Purchasing function, manage and monitor all aspects of procurement within Canada, and provide strategic direction for supplier relationships and ongoing purchases.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of influencing others and achieving objectives through collaboration.

You will be responsible for developing a strategy for vendor/supplier management, negotiating pricing, conducting supplier audits, and initiating new supplier setups.

Analyze supplier spending and material data to achieve year-over-year cost reduction or effective cost management.

Manage and track supplier performance, including delivery, quality, lead time, and competitiveness.

Analyze and manage suppliers and material markets for risk mitigation, alternative options, and opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and monitor personnel within the purchasing function.
  • Develop a strategy for vendor/supplier management to ensure continuous good services at best quality and cost.
  • Negotiate pricing, conduct supplier audits, initiate new supplier setups, and provide ongoing sourcing and inventory management.
  • Identify and manage the key supply base, review purchase agreements and contracts, initiate RFPs where appropriate, and identify new supplier opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, strategic buying, or related emphasis.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of influencing others and achieving objectives through collaboration.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for business-related items and efforts.
Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
