We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Cascades in Surrey. As a key member of our Recovery Plus division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular plant walks, engage with drivers/operators, and participate in ride-alongs to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with control systems, provide coaching and educational opportunities, and liaise with local and senior leadership on systemic issues.
- Communicate with local leadership on activities and advice related to inspections from authorities and provide support during events that may occur onsite.
- Promote health and safety initiatives, ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and serve as a subject matter expert on health, safety, and wellness.
- Knowledge of OHS laws and standards.
- Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions.
- Ability to translate challenges into concrete solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as agility to work with various technological tools.
- Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP systems is an asset.
