About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Cascades in Surrey. As a key member of our Recovery Plus division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular plant walks, engage with drivers/operators, and participate in ride-alongs to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with control systems, provide coaching and educational opportunities, and liaise with local and senior leadership on systemic issues.
  • Communicate with local leadership on activities and advice related to inspections from authorities and provide support during events that may occur onsite.
  • Promote health and safety initiatives, ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and serve as a subject matter expert on health, safety, and wellness.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of OHS laws and standards.
  • Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions.
  • Ability to translate challenges into concrete solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as agility to work with various technological tools.
  • Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP systems is an asset.
