About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Silviculture Field Assistant to join our team at Canfor. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in the planning and implementation of our Silviculture programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage Silviculture program activities, including post-harvest assessments, site preparation, seed collection, reforestation, silviculture surveys, brushing, weeding, and burning, while adhering to applicable reporting requirements.
  • Track, report, and analyze safety, quality, cost, and delivery results to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in maintaining positive relations with various stakeholders, the public, and government agencies.
  • Ensure all silviculture activities are conducted in compliance with legislation, Canfor's Safety Policy, SAFE Company certification, Environment Policy, and Forest Management System.
  • Provide and support a positive atmosphere for personal, professional, and team development.
Requirements
  • Associated university degree or technical diploma in a relevant field.
  • Working towards RFT, FIT, or RPF Certification with the Association of BC Forestry Professionals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate a Microsoft office environment and experience with other forest industry software applications.
