We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Silviculture Field Assistant to join our team at Canfor. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in the planning and implementation of our Silviculture programs.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and manage Silviculture program activities, including post-harvest assessments, site preparation, seed collection, reforestation, silviculture surveys, brushing, weeding, and burning, while adhering to applicable reporting requirements.
- Track, report, and analyze safety, quality, cost, and delivery results to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in maintaining positive relations with various stakeholders, the public, and government agencies.
- Ensure all silviculture activities are conducted in compliance with legislation, Canfor's Safety Policy, SAFE Company certification, Environment Policy, and Forest Management System.
- Provide and support a positive atmosphere for personal, professional, and team development.
- Associated university degree or technical diploma in a relevant field.
- Working towards RFT, FIT, or RPF Certification with the Association of BC Forestry Professionals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate a Microsoft office environment and experience with other forest industry software applications.
