Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Physician to join our Mental Health and Psychiatry team at Fraser Health. As an Associate Physician, you will work under the supervision of a Most Responsible Provider (MRP) or Attending physician to provide high-quality care to patients with mental health and substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and reviews of ongoing patient management under supervision.
  • Participate in patient rounds and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
  • Perform physical and neurological examinations, order medical investigations, and initiate pharmacotherapy under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and provide discharge planning for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver care, and participate in quality improvement projects.
Requirements
  • Medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum two years of postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist.
  • Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs).
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) in the Associate Physician class.
