Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with stable conditions
- Administer treatments as ordered by physicians and assigned by Patient Care Manager
- Enforce infection control principles and aseptic techniques to prevent nosocomial and communicable diseases
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current B.C.L.S.
- Coronary Care I course (Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation) or willingness to enroll and complete within 12 months
- Proven ability to work at full scope of practice
- Proven related and effective experience in a Medical Unit or similar environment
- Updated nursing skills, including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses
- Current certificate in Medication Administration
- Knowledge and experience in wound care
- Proven sound judgment, good observation, tact, and empathy
- Effective organizational, problem-solving, and teaching skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize work effectively
- Ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations
- Satisfactory performance record
- Commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Ability to physically lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with the assistance of mechanical aids

- Understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive Safety programs and practices
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
