About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Labourer to join our team at Great Lakes Greenhouses Inc. as a key member of our crop management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hand Harvesting Vegetables: Harvest a variety of crops, including cucumbers, using manual techniques to ensure high-quality produce.
  • Crop Management: Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote healthy growth and maximize yields.
  • Farm Machinery Operation: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment to support crop management and harvesting activities.
  • Disease Detection: Monitor crops for signs of disease and health problems, taking prompt action to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Quality Control: Examine produce for quality and readiness for market, ensuring that only the highest-quality crops are sold.
Work Environment

As an Agricultural Labourer, you will work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with exposure to wet/damp and hot conditions. You will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 60 hours per week, with overtime required as needed.
