Assistant Professor Position in Mathematics

About the Position
The Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for up to two full-time tenure stream appointments in Mathematics. The appointments will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Candidates in all areas of Mathematics, Pure and Applied Mathematics, will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the further development of Mathematics at the University of Toronto and also to the further expansion of our Department in that direction in the future.
Responsibilities
- Pursue independent, innovative research and establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
- Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervision, and participate actively in the Graduate Department of Mathematics.
- Show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and to the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Mathematics or a closely related area by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
- Strong teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations or evidence of superior performance in other teaching-related activities.
