Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Sylvan Lake Beachfront Resort Ltd. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our resort.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all resort areas, including hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and dirt.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle repetitive tasks.
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Dependability, excellent written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, and reliability.
Work Environment:

Our resort operates in all weather conditions, and you will be required to work in a physically demanding environment.

Work Setting:

Our resort is a hotel, motel, and resort located in a beautiful beachfront area.

Personal Suitability:

We are looking for a candidate who is dependable, has excellent written communication skills, is flexible, has initiative, good judgement, and is reliable.

Work Term:

Permanent position.

Work Language:

English.

Hours:

30 to 40 hours per week.
