Manager, Indigenous Community Engagement

Job Summary:
The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Indigenous Community Engagement to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with Indigenous communities in Quebec, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to engage with Indigenous communities in Quebec, including the development of partnerships and collaborations with community organizations and leaders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Indigenous community leaders, government officials, and other partners.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services to Indigenous communities, including the development of culturally sensitive and relevant programs.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools, status reports, and dashboards to track progress and measure impact.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends in Indigenous community engagement and program delivery.
Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant discipline, such as Indigenous studies, community development, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Indigenous community engagement, program management, and leadership roles.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous community leaders and stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, including partnerships and collaborations with community organizations and leaders.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with Indigenous community members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and histories, as well as an understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous communities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Working Conditions:
- Alternating between remote work and work in the office or in the field.
- Regular travel across the province, sometimes for a few consecutive days.
- Non-traditional working hours will be required when on-call, during emergency response and/or on deployments.
- Must have a valid driver's license (a driver's abstract may be required).
