Job Title: Manager, Indigenous Community Engagement
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Indigenous Community Engagement to join our team at the Canadian Red Cross. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with Indigenous communities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring that our programs and services meet the needs of these communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies that meet the needs of Indigenous communities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Indigenous community leaders and organizations
- Ensure that our programs and services are culturally sensitive and meet the needs of Indigenous communities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement programs and services that support Indigenous community engagement
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement strategies and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field, such as Indigenous studies, community development, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in community engagement and development, with a focus on Indigenous communities
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous community leaders and organizations
- Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a community engagement context
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Working Conditions:
- Alternating between remote work and work in the office or in the field
- Regular travel across the province, sometimes for a few consecutive days
- Non-traditional working hours will be required when on-call, during emergency response and/or on deployments
