Job Title: Mental Wellness Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Wellness Program Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our mental health team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and expansion of our Growing Mindfully program.

Job Summary:

The Mental Wellness Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the growth and success of our mental wellness initiatives, including the Growing Mindfully program. This role will involve working collaboratively with our mental health team, community partners, and participants to deliver high-quality programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the expansion of the Growing Mindfully program, including developing new sites and updating the curriculum.
  • Work with an evaluation partner to develop and implement evaluation and tracking systems.
  • Monitor and respond to program inquiries, screen new participants, and deliver the Growing Mindfully program.
  • Perform administrative duties, including updating spreadsheets and waitlists, organizing supplies, and collecting and mailing program evaluations.
  • Market and recruit for the program, including outreach to community partners, organizing events, and managing social media posts.
  • Attend YMCA BC-Kamloops meetings as needed and facilitate training for new staff and partnerships.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere that inspires self and others to succeed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health field, such as psychology, counseling, or social work.
  • Master's degree in mental health or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience conducting intakes and assessments, leading group mindfulness practices, and working with mental health populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments, prioritize tasks, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High degree of independence and initiative within a team environment.

  • Leadership/Coaching: Ability to direct and develop the performance of others to achieve desired results.
  • Service Strategy: Ability to identify the needs and wants of members/participants and respond in an effective and timely manner.
