Job Title: Youth Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team at A Way Home Kamloops. As a key member of our community agency, you will play a vital role in supporting the needs of our clients, particularly those experiencing socio-economic challenges, homelessness, and other related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clients' needs and eligibility for specific services, providing personalized support and guidance.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping, to ensure accurate and efficient service delivery.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor client progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Implement behavior management programs to help clients develop essential life skills and coping mechanisms.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, providing emotional support and advocacy.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent education.
  • Experience in social services, youth work, or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid certifications in Mental Health First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, CPR, and Food Safety are required.
