Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for providing semi-skilled routine and preventative maintenance, general repair and upgrading work to maintain the Housing Services rental stock in good condition. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between tenants and Housing Services staff, performing hands-on maintenance work and addressing tenant concerns in a respectful and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of Housing Services rental stock
• Assist tenants with maintenance-related issues and concerns
• Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness and neatness of common areas, grounds, and maintenance areas
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and control systems
• Assist other Housing Services staff as required
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is an asset.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. The successful candidate will also be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
