Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Government of Prince Edward Island. As a key member of our Housing Services team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the upkeep of our rental properties.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks to maintain the condition of our rental properties.
- Repair and replace eavestroughs, downspouts, and other exterior components.
- Check and repair plumbing fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
- Replace or repair flooring, windows, and doors.
- Inspect and maintain common areas, grounds, and maintenance areas.
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants and maintain a positive working relationship with Housing Officers.
- Investigate and resolve tenant issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review fire safety procedures with tenants and maintain necessary records.
- Assist other Housing Services staff as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
