Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Woodwork Specialist to join our team at GRD Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality woodwork projects from start to finish.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires 40 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in the trade and a strong understanding of woodwork principles and practices.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written communication skills, be accurate and efficient, and have the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Estimates: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for woodwork projects.
  • Read Blueprints: Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accuracy.
  • Measure and Cut Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Install Windows and Doors: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware with precision and attention to detail.
  • Schedule and Coordinate Work: Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain and Repair Residences: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with a dynamic team. They will be required to travel to various job sites and work at heights, sometimes in inclement weather.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
  • Languages: English language proficiency is essential for this role.

Compensation:
