At Sienna Senior Living, we are committed to providing exceptional care and services to our residents. As a Prep Cook, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our food services.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up equipment and supplies for food preparation, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Prepare food and ingredients following standardized recipes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion-controlled quantities, under the direct guidance of a Cook or Chef.
- Receive, check, and store food and supply deliveries in accordance with food safety standards, Health and Safety standards, and prescribed practices.
- Monitor quality and quantity of food supplies received and advise the Cook or Chef on duty of problems.
- Report food, supply, and equipment needs to the Cook or Chef.
- Assist with the delivery, set-up, and removal of food for special events, buffets, and catered functions.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks according to instructions and cleaning schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Minimum one year experience in volume food preparation, catering, and special event preparation in the Hospitality or Retirement Residences industry.
- Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate.
- Good public relations and communication skills.
- Positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
- Ability to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for the majority of the shift.
- Successful completion of the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) or Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
- Smart Serve Certificate.
