Job Title: Managing Director, Growth Equity

At Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, we are seeking a seasoned investment professional to join our Growth Equity team as a Managing Director. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in growth investing and lead our efforts in making fund and direct investments in innovative companies.

About the Role

The Managing Director, Growth Equity will be responsible for developing and executing our growth equity investment strategy, working closely with our investment team and external partners. You will be expected to demonstrate deep knowledge of the growth investing landscape, with a focus on technology and tech-enabled businesses. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, as well as managing our existing portfolio of investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute our growth equity investment strategy, working closely with the investment team and external partners
  • Lead due diligence and investment processes, exercising strong investment acumen and judgment
  • Take full responsibility for external partner engagement, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Lead and develop team members across the Growth Equity team, contributing to our overall team culture and engagement
  • Drive enterprise-wide impact through a commitment to our strategy, making choices that drive value for the enterprise
Requirements
  • 15+ years of professional experience, with 10+ years investing in private or growth equity
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in teams, leading when appropriate, and commitment to building an inclusive culture
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Passion for the venture and growth equity ecosystem, with a strong interest in investing in a GP-partnership driven model
  • Clear and proven communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex investment ideas to both internal and external stakeholders
