About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor Taxation to join our Investment Fund Administration team at National Bank. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in analyzing the tax situation of investment funds and making recommendations to ensure compliance with tax and securities regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze tax situations of investment funds and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with tax and securities regulations.
  • Coach and guide a team of 8 professionals responsible for delivering various activities related to investment funds.
  • Participate in the calculation of distributions and production of tax returns for investment funds.
  • Manage strategic relationships with internal and external partners to establish collaborative relationships, influence decisions, and increase the volume of activities.
  • Develop and implement effective controls and working tools to ensure high-quality standards and integrity of financial data in the calculation of investment funds.
  • Monitor industry developments and ensure application of tax and securities rules in team deliverables.
  • Calculate distributions of income and capital gains, and produce tax returns for investment funds.
  • Participate in and coordinate projects, ensuring their monitoring and successful completion.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the improvement of activities and processes.
About the Team

The Taxation team consists of 10 professionals who work together to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions for our clients and partners. We are supported by tax experts and are committed to meeting the challenges of tax and securities law.

Requirements
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with 7-10 years of relevant experience in the sector.
  • Experience in filing tax returns for trusts and corporations.
  • Knowledge of investment funds and trusts is mandatory.
  • Increased knowledge of investment fund distributions.
  • Knowledge of tax, accounting, and securities standards applying to investment funds.
  • Knowledge of the system: FMC - PACER (SS&C).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including complex formulas and pivot tables.
  • Ability to handle pressure and manage priorities effectively.
