The Job

As a Heavy Duty Technician, you will be responsible for safely operating, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining company-owned heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel trucks and equipment.

You will ensure the safe operation of rolling stock to support waste removal and environmental services provided by our drivers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing operational difficulties, and completing administrative duties.
  • Planning and scheduling repairs, reviewing mechanical write-ups, and assisting in coordinating repair schedules.
  • Responding to service calls and emergent situations in the field.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Computer literacy, trainability on software systems, and a willingness to learn
  • Meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to company standards
  • The ability to use diagnostic software (a plus)
  • The physical ability to perform all aspects of the job
