Communicative Disorders Assistant Specialist for Child Development

The Communicative Disorders Assistant at KidsAbility Centre for Child Development enhances the communication skills of clients in partnership with their families and community. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing, recording, and evaluating speech and language therapy programs for children with communication challenges
- Maintaining awareness of relevant community resources and factors impacting speech and language development
- Initiating activities to improve professional knowledge and clinical skills, and staying up-to-date with new ideas and interventions
- Participating in team goals and activities, motivating and supporting interdisciplinary team plans for coordinating services to clients and families
- Exchanging information and ideas to foster understanding and positive relationships with clients, families, co-workers, and the community
- Practicing in accordance with KidsAbility's mission, values, and strategic plan
- Maintaining the Code of Ethics of the CDAAC and following guidelines for supportive personnel of the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
To be successful in this role, you must have a Graduate Certificate in Communication Disorders Assistant and:
- Effective oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail and adherence to confidentiality standards
- Proven ability to work as an integral member of a team and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Possess a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including SharePoint and Teams
