Director, Pharmacy Strategy

McKesson is a leading healthcare company that delivers insights, products, and services to improve quality care. We are seeking a strategic leader to oversee Biopharma's Payer programs and solutions.

Job Summary:

The Director, Pharmacy Strategy will be responsible for creating strategic partnerships with payors, developing best-in-class programs, and leading project execution and management. The incumbent must have a deep understanding of the drug and benefits landscape, as well as private and public policy changes that impact business objectives.

  • Develop and implement innovative payor programs and solutions to drive business growth and revenue.
  • Manage the Specialty Pharmacy Kroll Central Maintenance team and the pharmacy adjudication/reporting system.
  • Conduct data analysis and provide insights on pharmacy specialty drug/program dispensing trends, including pricing, billing, and revenue/margin trends.
  • Strategically plan and direct pharmacy activities to reduce and mitigate claw backs from third-party payer audits.
  • Liaise with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless execution of pharmacy activities.
  • Build and execute on short- and long-term strategic partnership roadmaps for Biopharma and Provider solutions.
  • Lead contract negotiations and execution with key stakeholders to optimize participation in PPN networks and other payor solutions.
  • Accountable for program financial performance and oversee the budget for internal and external clinical resources.
  • Ensure payor programs are executed with excellence and operating efficiently, managing all issue resolution and escalations directly with clients.
  • Develop a network of strong client relationships with key payors, including influencers, securing business with key industry leaders within each stakeholder group.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Business Administration, Pharmacy, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in P&L management.
  • Experience with payor, health, and drug benefit programs, including PPNs, PSPs, copay programs, case management, and reimbursement programs.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, trends, and provide insights.
  • Project/program/product management experience an asset.
  • Strong communication skills: interpersonal, writing, and presentation.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong professional presence, planning, and advanced client management skills.
