Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assessment Officer. As an Assessment Officer, you will be responsible for inspecting residential, farm, and commercial properties, recording land and building characteristics, and updating property and ownership information using computer software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect properties to determine value, class, and liability for taxation
  • Record and update property and ownership information using computer software
  • Attend boards of revision and defend assessments
  • Respond to assessment enquiries from the public and municipal government councils

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. business administration, agriculture, finance, valuation, appraisal, or construction)
  • Professional work experience in agribusiness, agronomy, building construction, mortgage lending, property assessment administration, building inspection, real estate, or real estate appraisal
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
