At the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Operations Specialist to join our team in the Flood Reinsurance Project Management group.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of a flood reinsurance program by working with various stakeholders to design and implement accounting and procurement operations for the new entity. This includes general and tax accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, travel & expenses, procurement, and vendor risk management.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing policies and guidelines, documenting processes and procedures, collaborating with the Financial Systems Group to design and develop a finance platform tailored to the new entity's needs, and managing the change process through stakeholder engagement and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement accounting and procurement operations for the new flood reinsurance entity
  • Develop policies and guidelines for accounting and procurement processes
  • Collaborate with the Financial Systems Group to design and develop a finance platform
  • Manage the change process through stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Lead all accounting and procurement operations of the new entity after implementation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in finance process design and implementation, external or internal auditing, and/or accounting operations
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research on unique business areas and rigorous analysis using critical thinking and judgment to resolve complex issues
  • Proven experience in leading finance system implementation or transformation projects and managing change
  • Bilingualism (English and French)
