Head Cashier
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, including supervising salespeople, cashiers, shelf stockers, and other employees. The ideal candidate will have experience in a supervisory capacity at a retail store or similar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee salespeople, cashiers, shelf stockers, and other employees to ensure efficient store operations.
- Demonstrate experience in supervisory capacity at a retail store or similar environment.
- Evaluate the supply and availability of stocks, and wastage.
- Monitor shelve stocks and product displays, and the general appearance of the store.
- Investigate market trends and offer products that would appeal to customers.
- Address customer's requests, comments, and complaints.
- Motivate employees to achieve targets.
- Train new staff members and assist with scheduling shifts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Greet customers entering the establishment.
- Oversee the store's front-end with respect to loss-prevention.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
- Process/inspect merchandise returns and exchanges.
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards.
- Assist/listen to customers.
Requirements:
- Must have High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must have 1-year experience in retail environment and be familiar with cash outs, invoicing, inventory, coding and proven track record of excellent customer relationship skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- MUST provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
