Senior Food Process Engineer

Laporte & Associates, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Food Process Engineer to join its team. As a key member of our process design team, you will be responsible for leading all project phases, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs.
Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Participate in client needs and project definition, review client specifications, and lead all project phases to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, defined scope, timelines, and budget.
- Design Development: Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for process design projects.
- Quality Assurance: Review engineering deliverables, maintain high standards of quality, and define project risks.
- Technical Reporting: Write technical reports and analysis to support design submissions.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary design teams located in offices across North America.
- Client Interaction: Chair project team meetings, maintain detailed understanding of local codes and standards applicable to industry and projects, and provide positive support to client and other discipline consultant interactions.
- Education: BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience in the area of process design for the food, beverage, or biotech industry.
- Design Skills: Experience in the design of fluid and bulk materials handling processes, including preparation of process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and P&IDs.
- Sanitary Process Systems: Experience in the design of sanitary process systems, including piping, vessels, and CIP systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with CFIA and HACCP requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Provincial (P. Eng) designation or eligibility, strong leadership, relationship management, and organizational planning and project management skills, in addition to technical knowledge.
