Occupational Therapist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at McMaster Children's Hospital. As a member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive care and coordinate follow-up to children to maximize their occupational performance and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply clinical expertise of pediatric disease processes and related complex medical and surgical conditions to provide comprehensive care.
- Coordinate follow-up to children to maximize their occupational performance and recovery.
- Liaise and communicate with team members, including the facilitation and coordination of community services and supports.
- Work with pediatric surgical, GI, and complex care populations and their families in the inpatient setting.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved School of Occupational Therapy.
- Relevant experience, knowledge, and clinical skills in the provision of evidence-based occupational therapy practice in the management of infants, children, adolescents, and their families.
- Well-developed knowledge of the role of occupational therapy services and other disciplines along the continuum of care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant community services and children's treatment facilities.
- Self-directed and flexible practitioner with well-developed critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
- Commitment to quality improvement identification and implementation.
