Job Description

Overview

Amgen is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Software Engineer to join our Digital, Technology and Innovation (DTI) Internal IT department. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and implement data pipelines, automate laboratory instruments, and create data visualization tools to support pharmaceutical research and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Implementation: Develop and optimize data pipelines that integrate various data sources, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
  • Instrument Automation: Collaborate with scientists and DTI team members to automate laboratory instruments, improving efficiency and accuracy in experimental processes.
  • Data Visualization: Design and implement data visualization tools and dashboards to help scientists and researchers analyze and interpret complex data sets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DTI specialists and scientists, to understand their needs and deliver effective technology solutions.
  • Testing & Documentation: Participate in testing and validation of new systems, and assist in creating technical documentation to support ongoing use and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills or coursework in languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow) and data visualization frameworks (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, record keeping, and time management skills.
