The role of Application Configuration Specialist Intern is crucial in maximizing the effectiveness of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom software systems through configuration enhancements, support, training, and quality assurance.

To excel in this position, candidates should demonstrate strong collaboration and adaptability, alongside excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, as they will engage with colleagues and external suppliers to meet tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Gathering and analyzing business requirements to identify configuration needs for COTS or custom applications.
  • Setting up software applications according to specifications and requirements.
  • Modifying and customizing applications to meet the organization's unique needs, which may involve scripting or coding.
  • Conducting comprehensive testing to ensure configurations and customizations function correctly without introducing issues.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to configurations, customizations, and modifications made to applications.
  • Training end-users and stakeholders on the effective use of configured applications.
  • Collaborating closely with IT professionals, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure applications align with business processes and objectives.

Qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of experience in application configuration and support.
  • Technical expertise in configuring enterprise-level COTS software.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with SQL queries and procedures is an asset.
