Job Title: Application Configuration Specialist

Telesat, a leading global satellite operator, is seeking an experienced Application Configuration Specialist to join our Space and Network Engineering team. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal utilization of our COTS and custom software systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze business requirements to determine the configuration needs of COTS or custom applications.
  • Set up software applications based on specifications and requirements, modifying and customizing them to meet the unique needs of our organization.
  • Conduct thorough testing to ensure configurations and customizations work as intended without causing issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to configurations, customizations, and changes made to the application.
  • Train end-users and other stakeholders on how to use the configured application effectively.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure the application supports business processes and objectives.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in application configuration and support.
  • Technical skills related to configuring enterprise-level COTS software.
  • Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with SQL queries and procedures is an asset.
